When i met you, we were in Houston Texas working for Dance Troupe Inc. It was probably around 2000 or 2001. That was one of my first seasons with Dance Troupe and we were the only females at that particular comeptition. We had a day before the competition to do whatever we wanted, so we spent the day getting to know each other. I remember the entire conversation, but what stood out the most is your open, trusting, and loving relationship with Christ. In every instance of your life that you shared with me, the converstion quickly turned back to the Lord. You were then and are now an inspiration to me and my walk with the Lord. I have so many good memories it is hard to not write a whole book. But one of the best is from my very first recital. I was maybe 6 years old. It was the first rehearsal at the theater and my partner for my first dance was not there. I was so scared to go on that stage by myself. So you stood in as my partner did the dance with me and let me wear your hat also! From that moment on I have not been afraid to get on any stage and dance. April, you have been a very important figure in my life from the moment that I stepped into the dance studio to the present. You taught me the true passion, dedication and hard work that comes with being a dance professional. From the time that I started dancing in the company, I knew that I wanted to make this dancing thing a part of my life forever. Something about it allowed me to transform myself into a different person and experience the world around me with a new perspective. One story I will never forget is driving down to Jekyll Island for a dance competition. Christina Francis and I were riding with you in the car on the way down. Much to your dismay, we passed a cop on the highway and before long we were pulled over on the shoulder. We were so geeked that you got pulled over that we popped the trunk of the car, got our cameras out and took pictures with the cop. Needless to say, we got you out of a ticket that day. With all of the life events that we all have experienced, I will not forget how you have lived and blossomed gracefully through them, allowing them to make you a better person. April, you are not only a former dance instructor, but a friend, mentor and spiritual counselor. I hope that on this Christmas Day that you will remember all of those whose lives you have touched over the years and cherish the moments that will live with you for a lifetime!!! Mrs. April, Where do I start? I guess it was about 25yrs ago when a new family moved in beside us, and unbeknownst to me, Mrs. April would become one of my BEST friends and my 2nd mom. Someone who I could talk to about anything(!) and she did a lot of listening. She was there when I was married, when my son Dakota Ryan was born, there after my accident, and so much more it would take all day. Mrs. April brings out the best and inspires EVERYONE she meets, she does not know a stranger, she is all caring, the porch light is always on and the welcome mat is always out. The measure of a person’s life is not want a person has, but how many lives a person touches. With that said she is the richest person in the world!! Knew April in high school. She's one of the most wonderful people in th world. I was kind of like the class clown - had some friends, mostly guys - when I got appendicitis in the eleventh grade, April came to the hospital to see how I was doing - she was and is one of the truest friends I have ever had.
